Background
HC Bike Tours are a company who specialise in motorcycling tour holidays around Europe, USA and Asia. It is not competitive and they are not racing, in essence the motorcycle is a mode of transport for them to tour the country they are visiting.
Policy Setup / Eligibility
We have built them their own bespoke policy basing it off of our Gold and Platinum policies. The policy will include all cover on our Gold / Platinum policy but with some increased cover levels specific to motorcycle tour holidays:
- Cover for motorcycling with no cc limit providing they hold a full UK license to the same cc they are driving abroad.
- Increased cover under the sporting equipment section to provide cover for motorcycle riding gear such as leathers, helmets, head cams etc up to £2500.
- All bikers are expected to hold a valid UK license for the bike type they are riding abroad and the policy will be invalid without this. This should be checked by the travel agent but if we could just double check so it’s recorded on the call that will just provide us with extra cover. It will also be listed as a requirement in the wording.
- There is no upper CC limit on the bike the insured can drive to be covered, it is all based on what they hold a valid UK license for.
**They are set up as a referral agent under code HCBKE, this does not need to be changed to an Icode**
Some of their tours include off road motorcycling which we have agreed with TIF we will cover with an additional activity pack:
Up to 250cc bike - covered with the ‘Extended Risk’ activity pack
Up to 750cc bike - covered with the ‘Higher Risk’ activity pack
**The activity pack ONLY needs to be added on if it is an off road tour, any normal motorcycling tour on regular roads there is no need to add on activity packs, this is covered as standard providing they hold a valid UK license for the bike they are riding**
- Age & trip limits match HX main policies
- Policy eligibility & gatekeepers the same as HX main policies
- All normal add-on's available too! - Gadget cover, increased cancellation & Winter Sports, including all other activities
