In August 2019, we had an example where the customer's child has been treated for Asthma and has an Asthma nurse, who they regularly have check ups with but they have not been technically diagnosed Asthma, due to the child's age and they cannot do the finalised test for this, until the child is 5 or 6 years old.
We went to TIF to see if they would cover, as this is technically classed as an undiagnosed condition.
TIF have advised us that, "Doctors found that children were over diagnosed 10-20 years ago with Asthma (hence people saying they have grown out of it). Doctors now diagnose potential Asthma as Viral Induced Wheezing". Our system has 'Childrens Viral Wheeze' to cover for this risk rating.
So, if you get this instance, please screen for it under 'Childrens Viral Wheeze' but any concerns, feel free to send a referral to TIF to check.
