Healix/Verisk does not got the capacity to be able declare medications for preventative reasons.
As long as we double check that the customer's have not ever been diagnosed/or had a condition on their medical history down for the 'preventative medication' they are taking, we do not need to declare it.
However, if a customer has been prescribed a statin for a preventative of cholesterol, please can this be declared. Doctors do not regularly prescribe medications to prevent Heart Attacks. Normally, a medication is prescribed because they’ve had an event.
Sometimes, you can be prescribed a precautionary Aspirin, but please do question effectively just to ensure that the customer has never had any heart conditions, bloods clots, strokes etc.
If customer's are taking a blood thinner such as Warfarin/Clopidogrel/Rivaroxban, these are never given for a precautionary reason! So please do question the customer, to get the condition that was the reason that these were prescribed.
