Personal Liability

'Personal Liability' refers to the cover on the policy for the customer if they accidentally injure or harm anyone during their holiday. The third party may need to claim on the insurance policy for medical bills or compensation and without personal liability cover this would not be possible. This is excluded when taking part in a lot of the hazardous activities.

Personal Liability is referred to in the TIF policy as, "If you are held legally liable for injury or damage." Operative clause: You were held to be legally liable for something that you did accidentally during your trip which caused injury, illness or disease to, or the damage to the property of, someone who was not your travelling companion or a member of your family.

Cover is included to all cover levels as a core cover.

Like Personal Accident Cover, it is excluded where specific Activities are undertaken. This is usually where liability cover would be provided elsewhere, e.g. under a motor vehicle policy. Again exclusions are called out in this section.
