TIF PRODUCTS (SOLD FROM APRIL 2019) - Brexit Disruption Cover Add-On

Between 01/10/2019 - 31/01/2020, TIF will be offering a Brexit Disruption Cover Add-On to all Direct and Referral Non Cruise customers. This will be offered on both Single and Annual policies. This add on is for customers to protect their holiday from the disruption of a No Deal Brexit. (If the UK leaves the EU without an agreement).

If you do a quote for a Direct or Referral Non Cruise customer, you will need to ask the following:

"Would you like to protect your holiday from a No Deal Brexit? This will provide cover for enhanced cancellation, disruption and delay in the event of No Deal Brexit."

This should be asked before giving the price. The above script will be added to Magenta Gold.

The Brexit Add On will cover the following:

  • Enhanced cancellation, disruption and delay in the event of no deal Brexit
  • If the customer has to cancel or curtail their holiday as a result of:

- Cancellation of flights between UK and EU airport

- Cancellation of ferries between UK and EU port

- Cancellation of Eurostar trains between UK and E

- Closure of the Channel Tunnel

  • Should the customer already be on their holiday and their return journey is disrupted then cover is also provided in the event of:

- Trip Disruption

- Curtailment 

- Missed Departure, Inbound & Outbound (Missed departure does not apply to Bronze cover)

- Missed onward connection, Inbound & Outbound

- Delayed arrival back into the UK

This cover is for anyone with flights / travel to and from Europe or through Europe with onward travel outside of Europe. 

All customers who have purchased a Holiday Extras Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum (excluding Cruise) since 1st April 2019 will also be able to add this cover. If a customer has an aggregator policy already in force then you would have to cancel their existing cover, subject to standard cancellation rules, and issue a new direct cover with Brexit extension.

Exclusions

Standard exclusions apply, similar to the main sections of travel cover, additionally in respect of a No Deal Brexit:

  • Excludes customer ignoring any advice given by the UK Government on preparation for a hard Brexit, and for which any necessary, passport changes, permits etc were available prior to any official announcement. 
  • Buying the extension after the announcement made confirming a No Deal Brexit.
