TIF PRODUCTS (SOLD FROM APRIL 2019) - Is a motor bike or moped, covered as a mode of transport or as an activity?

For on-road motor biking or moped driving as an activity or as a mode of transport, yes, TIF (new) and Aggregator policies, TIF will cover as standard (select Activity Grade 1) and there is no CC limit in this instance. All TIF ask to permit a customer to ride is: a relevant UK licence, alongside wearing a helmet, even if it is not law to do so in the country that they are travelling to.

However, TIF have advised the following about Personal Accident Cover for on-road motorbiking, "Unfortunately we do not cover personal accident for anything mechanically propelled. This means we will pay for treatment in the event of something happening during the activity, but we will not cover the death benefit in the unfortunate event of this happening." This means, that Personal Accident Cover is not provided for this activity but our policies will still provide medical cover, if anything medical happened to the customer, whilst on the bike but they would not be able to claim towards death benefit, if the worse case scenario happened.

For off-road motor biking or moped driving and other motor bike activities, please refer to TIF case-by case and include the itinerary and the website of the company providing the activity.
