For TIF policies, the Gadget Cover is arranged and administered by Taurus Insurance Services Limited and underwritten by Amtrust Europe Limited. This allows customer's to claim for Accidental Damage, Theft, Malicious Damage & Loss, whilst they are away. Only the Platinum land based policy automatically comes with "Standard Cover" but the other TIF policies i.e Bronze, Silver, Gold or Cruise don’t. See table for reference:

Gadget Cover is only available for a max of 192 days, so if we try and sell it for single policies for more than 192 days, Magenta Gold will show it as £0 and isn't actually available for that policy. Annuals are fine as they are priced accordingly.
In regards to laptops, these will NOT be covered on the policy, unless the customer has added on Gadget Cover or purchased our Platinum policy. For the purpose of our policies, a 'gadget' can be any one of the following electrical items: Mobile Phones, Smart Phones, Laptops, Tablets, MP3 Players, CD/DVD Players, Games Consoles, Bluetooth Headsets, PDAs, E-Readers, Head/Ear Phones, Wearable Technology (such as a Smart Watch or a Health and Fitness Tracker).
Gadget Cover would NOT include a telescope, unless it was an electrical (plug in or battery powered one). None electrical items would be covered under the standard luggage section of the policy. And if the policy they are looking at does not supply enough cover for the none electrical item, as we cannot increase standard luggage cover, the customer's only options would be to seek insurance elsewhere for that item or not take it on holiday. As items like telescopes can be very expensive.
