For new bookings, no, TIF cannot provide cover.
If a customer becomes under investigation after purchasing a TIF policy, they have three options. The customer can either:
- Claim for cancellation.
- Pro-rota refund of their policy.
- In some instances, we will be able to exclude conditions. However, this is under the discretion of the medical underwriters. For example, if it’s a possible condition which falls within your ‘have you ever’ Gatekeeper criteria, it is unlikely we will be able to exclude these.

There is no cover until the customer has been given a diagnosis or all clear for the undiagnosed condition. If the investigation is due to take longer than 2 weeks, please refer to TIF for their consideration.
